The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is an income-based program that provides funding for preschool programs for four-year-old children. The class meets Monday through Thursday. The staff follows a Montessori and High Scope Curriculum and observes students based on objectives set forth in the program in which individual goals are set for each student. This curriculum is nationally-known for its forward-thinking, comprehensive and rigorously researched model. It focuses on four main developmental topics: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. Through an ongoing cycle of observing children, guiding their learning and assessing their progress, this curriculum is personalized to target each child’s individual needs.
