Administration Team
I have my bachelor’s in early childhood education and master’s in curriculum and instruction with a focus on early childhood. I am currently working on my second master’s in early childhood education with a focus on administration. I am also a very proud mother of three children, Brittany, Owen, and Beau. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with them and my husband Ron. I enjoy shopping, going out to dinner and in the summer time going camping.
Llama Room
My name is Jenn. I started at Second Home in 2015 as an associate teacher. I have my associates degree in early childhood, and I am currently going for my bachelor’s and will be done in May. My favorite colors are pink and teal. I have four cats; Milo, Riff, Belle, and Izzy. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends!
Miss Ashley Is a Current Student at Rochester College I am currently working on my bachelor degree in Education. I am an alumni at Macomb Community college where I obtained my associates degree. I have my cda in preschool . I have been teaching in the early childhood education field for 9years plus. In my spare time I am working.I am the owner of Still A Mother llc & an ambassador for total life changes, I’m a caregiver and a daughter. I love Teaching because teachers have the joy of working first with our next doctors, lawyers or even president!

Otter Room
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Rochester College. I also graduated with a master’s degree in early childhood from Oakland University. I have worked in various early childhood centers such as Head Start, Early Head Start, and both public and private preschools over the past 20 years. I am married and have three kids. My favorite food is chicken parmesan pizza. I love to drink coffee and tea. I love my job and that I am able to make a difference in a child’s life each and every day.
Ducklings Room
I have been in the early childhood field for 9 years, and received my bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. This is my 3rd year working as a lead teacher at Second Home Child Development Center. I have a passion for early learning, especially enriching young minds through play and mindful experiences. I love being able to build special relationships with my students and families. I like spending outside-time with my students, and reading books together in the classroom. I have lived in Michigan my whole life, and I have an older brother and sister. I enjoy spending my time with my family, boyfriend, and friends. I love being outdoors, and doing anything on the beach or on the water.
Hi, my name is Derbery Kelly and I enjoy being part of the Second Home family. I have over 20 years of experience teaching in early childhood education. I love spending time with my grandkids, love to bake, love to travel, love playing cards, and I love shopping.
Elephant Room
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Children and Families Studies – Early Childhood Education and Political Science. I have been working as a lead teacher at Second Home Child Development Center since 2018. I enjoy witnessing children learn and grow through the discoveries they make both in and out of the classroom. I love learning new things and traveling to new places. I spend much of my free time with my family and friends.
I am a graduate of Macomb community college for early childhood development. I also have a CDA in early childhood preschool. I have been teaching for over 25+years and am looking forward to continuing the journey. I am a loving mother of two amazing children, my son who just last year graduated from college for graphic design and my daughter who is a freshman in high school. I enjoy spending my time with family as well as listening to music and being active as much as possible and am happy to be a part of the SHCD Team.
Peacock Room
Hello, my name is Denise Davenport. I have been working in education for about years 20 and I love what I do. I’ve worked in daycares, Head Start, and I’m now working at a Montessori School. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I’ve worked for Second Home for several years and the previous two years of my employment were spent as an assistant teacher. Second Home has given me the opportunity to make advances in my career. In my spare time, I spend time with my family traveling. My grandchildren keep me occupied; we are consistently going on outings to places such as movies, parks, and vacations. I will continue to work with children so they can achieve the goals we have put in place while working on their levels of growth and development.
I am a graduate of Wayne County Community College with an associate degree in Early Childhood Development. I’ve been teaching preschool for 32 years. I was welcome at Second Home Child Development Center in 2018. It makes me happy to see children progress while learning. I have two wonderful children and am a grandmother.I enjoy watching movies with my family, listening to music and doing crossword puzzles.
